Behind the Song: "We Know Too Much" began when I read an article on climate scientists in therapy. How would you handle the anxiety of knowing what the world is not ready to hear? Soon I realized the song was more a meditation on love and limits. We say “forever” when we are not able to imagine loss. We put a frame around certain moments, a smiling Amelia Earhart or a white bird on a glacier lake, to try and hold on. Wrapped inside every laugh, every kiss, is an expiration date. We mostly don’t talk about it. Sometimes our bodies respond more truthfully. We laugh until we cry.
